Anche il mondo dell’arte ha espresso la sua solidarietà alla città di Manchester dopo l’attentato di lunedì scorso che ha causato 22 vittime.

L’artista mancuniano Qubek ha reso omaggio alle vittime con due murales che celebrano la città e lo spirito dei suoi abitanti.

I due murales rappresentano api lavoratrici – simbolo di Manchester dai tempi della Rivoluzione Industriale – che volano intorno a due mani a forma di cuore.

I due murales sono stati svelati mercoledì a Stevenson Square, nella parte nord di Manchester, zona nota per la sua vita notturna.

A Qubek si sono uniti altri due artisti di Manchester, J-Clique e Kate Cocker. “La gente qui ha una grande forza di spirito – ha detto J-Clique – ma atti barbarici come questo possono avere effetti devastanti anche sulle persone più forti”.

A Toronto lo street artist Victor Fraser ha postato sui social la foto della sua opera più recente.

“C‘è una sola risposta all’odio – ha scritto Fraser su Instagram – ed è amore, comprensione, gentilezza ed empatia”.

Se alcuni artisti hanno enfatizzato la forza di volontà della città e dei suoi abitanti, i vignettisti politici hanno messo in risalto la violenza insensata dell’attacco alla Manchester Arena.

Al tributo si sono associati anche i tatuatori di Manchester, che nel corso del fine settimana raccoglieranno fondi per le famiglie delle vittime tatuando l’ape simbolo della città per 50 sterline (circa 58 euro).
